OPERC is unique, in that it combines both the very best international professional practitioners and academic scholars under one umbrella organisation. This gives the centre great strength and flexibility to provide and publish the finest best practice guidance materials for industry and education. Our sole aim being to educate and raise standards.
The centre consists of three core centres, namely: Executive, Research and International. Executive members are chosen by OPERC's members and include representatives from EPIC, the Association of Industrial Truck Trainers and the Association of Lorry Loaders Importers and Manufacturers. Each executive member has an outstanding knowledge of their subject domain and more importantly, practical working experience. Research is predominantly based at Loughborough University; albeit, other Universities have collaborated on various research projects. The research work is directed by industry and filtered to members via OPERC's electronic forum. All members of the research team are either qualified to a PhD standard or currently undertaking such. The international section of OPERC is currently under development but already the centre has attracted members from Australia, the United States of America, South Africa, Nigeria, the Philippines, China and Ireland.
