Meet the Team - Dr Ruel Cabahug

Dr Ruel R. Cabahug BSCE, M.Eng, IFS, CMPE, Ph.D.

Ruel completed his undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering from Xavier University, Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, in 1984. He subsequently obtained his Master of Engineering degree in Construction Engineering and Management from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand, in 1997. Prior to his masters undertaking, Ruel worked with the Department of Public Works and Highways (Region 10, Philippines) and several construction companies, which in total gave him invaluable construction industry experience. While undertaking his M.Eng. degree, he simultaneously worked as an information scientist with the International Ferrocement Information Centre (IFIC), AIT, Thailand. In 1998, he joined the Mindanao Polytechnic State College (MPSC), Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines, as Assistant Professor teaching undergraduate civil engineering. He has published papers in several international and national journals including Ferrocement Technology, Construction Management and Technician-based Engineering Educational System. Ruel completed his Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) sponsored PhD research into plant operator maintenance proficiency (MAINTAIN) in April 2003 at Loughborough University.
