Dr Junli
Yang, MSc, PhD, ICIOB, MCMPE
Dr. Yang studied Civil and Building
Engineering (Diploma) at Northwest Construction College, Xian,
China, in 1990. He consequently worked
as a building design consultant, as a structural engineer, for
four years. In 1996, Dr Yang studied computer science and CAD related
courses at Newcastle University. In 1998, he completed his Masters
Degree of
Computer Aided Design in Construction at the School of Engineering
and Building Environment of University of Wolverhampton. He has
since
gone on to study a PHD (at Wolverhampton University) entitled “A
decision support system for materials routing on construction sites,” which
was completed in October 2001. Upon completion of the PhD, Dr Yang
was employed as a Research assistant at Wolverhampton. In January 2002,
he accepted a prestigious Research Fellowship at Loughborough University
to undertake EPSRC sponsored research work, which seeks to classify
the plant operators’ productivity. His specialist area of knowledge
is the application of artificial intelligence (fuzzy logic and neural
networks) to off-highway plant and equipment science. This work has
been published in several leading academic journals.
